We’re continuing work on transforming a brand new, empty apartment into a sophisticated place to call home. The unit is in the new 1800 Lake Street Apartments across from Lake Calhoun. To fit the unit’s unique design, we’re filling it with all-new contemporary furniture and finishes.
Pictured here are materials we’re using in the Living Room, Bedroom and Kitchen. At the top of the photo you’ll see the furniture layout for the Living Room. We’ve chosen a comfy leather sofa in camel, and will add pops of color with pillows in the contemporary paisley you see here. The pom poms shown will trim the pillows.
The squares you see in the blueprint will be two ottomans upholstered in the blue fabric, with dark wood bases. The sofa and end table – very pretty, from Johnston Casuals – are made of reclaimed wood and brushed nickel. Reclaimed wood is popular for those wanting green or earth-friendly features in their design, and also has the added benefits of being very strong, stable and durable.
We’ll also be adding some incredible artwork to the space, which will tie everything together – but you’ll have to wait for the final reveal to see it!
In the Bedroom, the contemporary bed is made with two tones of wood, as you’ll see pictured, and has camel-colored ultra-suede insets which really soften the look. The custom bedding we’ve designed includes a textured light-taupe bedspread, and large accent pillows in a contemporary twig pattern to make a statement. The artwork we’ve chosen adds color and completes the look. We’ll share photos soon.
Shown below the Bedroom materials, in the lower left-hand corner of the photo, is another contemporary fabric, which will be used on the kitchen barstool seats.
These materials are all in keeping with the building’s clean, contemporary design. We’ll keep you posted as the rooms come together, so keep your eye out for the reveal!
