Before and After Stairway at the Spa House in Laguna Beach

BEFORE

Before, this stairway at the Spa House in Laguna Beach, CA had a warm feel, with its deep brown wood tones, but the hard, shiny steps felt a bit harsh.
After adding a stair runner, the stairway became much more inviting.
AFTER
The soft feel and light color of the carpet is more soothing, and draws you up the stairs. It also coordinates well with the tile floor below, tying the two levels together for more cohesiveness in the overall space. An added bonus – the steps will be less slippery, which adds practicality to the design feature.
