With this beautiful new construction home in the Southeast suburbs, our task in the dining room was to work with new and existing furnishings to give it a polished look. Before, the room felt incomplete. It was somewhat empty without artwork and window treatments. Because the table was too small for the space, and didn’t coordinate well with the light fixture, it felt imbalanced.
The homeowner loved the existing area rug, so we made it work in the space, still achieving the look we needed by having design elements play off of its design and color.
The new table and chairs make a dramatic difference; this set is much more balanced and suited for the space. To add additional beauty and interest, we brought custom-framed, original contemporary artwork into the room. The art piece centered between the newly dressed-up windows stands out, as if on stage, between the windows’ custom-designed draperies. The drapery panels and swags also frame the view out the window, overlooking the homeowners’ gorgeous lot and pond. Their cream fabric brings a softness to the space that wasn’t there before. All the artwork also ties in with the picturesque nature backdrop outside. A floral arrangement we had designed for the table centerpiece anchors the room with its eye-catching color and design.
Now the room feels softer, pulled together, and has a nice ambiance for our clients.
Julie Ann was very nice to work with. She was always available and responsive to us. We really love the artwork in our dining room. It now makes the room feel unique and special.
