Refined Master Bath

After remodeling their lower level living room, our clients Shelly and Joel were ready to update their Master Bath. Before, the layout wasn’t working well, and the tub was taking up a lot of space. The couple envisioned something more functional, spa-like, with a light and airy feel.

We laid the foundation with a warm wood-look porcelain tile, that the couple suggested. The walls are a complement in a light neutral.

After determining they didn’t really need the tub, we decided to reconfigure the shower to be larger. The focal point in the bathroom, it’s now double in size, with a practical bench built in. We designed a subtle pattern in the shower with floor-to-ceiling ceramic tiles from Italy, in brown and beige tones. In keeping with their appreciation of high-tech features, the shower has built-in speakers. In addition, its steam room feature adds to the spa feel. A glass door keeps the bathroom open and airy.

The toilet was moved to a semi-private location and it also has lux features – a heated seat, automatic lid opener and bidet. A heated towel rack offers a convenient indulgence.

Custom-designed cabinetry for the vanity and tall storage cabinet fits the space and keeps necessities out of sight. Specially designed for the couple, the vanity includes a lower counter height and seat for Shelly to apply her makeup. Beautiful quartz counters are timeless.

The creamy white we chose for the cabinets feels sophisticated and elegant, and sets off the dark hardware and fixtures in oil rubbed bronze. The custom mirrors, including the oval variation in the center, contribute to the polished look. Dual light fixtures with a wave motif etched in the glass bring in the tranquility of nature.

The flower arrangement above the tall storage cabinet was also custom-designed, with coordinating colors pulled from the couple’s treasured art piece purchased in Mexico. Other finishing touches like the metal magazine rack (featuring birds, as in the artwork) and towels with a colorful punch pull the look together and add personality.

The result is a pretty space that’s both luxurious and functional, suited to the couple’s taste and lifestyle.

Margie is great! It was an extreme pleasure working with her. I will definitely recommend her to friends and family.
