Phase 1 Redesign – 2008
Needing help discerning intentions for her home and family, Janis Klecker first contacted Ann Drew Yu of Good Intentions, for some Feng Shui advice. Together they came up with ideas to shift the energy within three existing rooms, including converting the dining room into a library/sitting area.
Following that, Ann contacted us, realizing they needed an interior design expert to create these new spaces. “I realized I needed a designer as (in the past) time and money was wasted on non-functional furniture pieces,” said Janis. “In the long run, Julie Ann saved me time AND money.”
We created a beautiful design for the Kleckers, with careful attention to color, furniture, fabric selections and placement. The family loved the end result, and it’s stood the test of time.
Phase 2 Redesign – 2017
Nearly 10 years later, we were contacted by Janis again to replace the flooring. (More about that project here) The existing ceramic tile had been cracking, undermining her good Feng Shui intentions, and they’d lived with it for a long time.
We had an attractive and durable wide plank maple floor installed, which has an oil-rubbed matte finish. Although it’s designed to be long lasting, when and if it does need refinishing, it’s much less costly than polyurethane finishes. Any scratches are also less visible, but when they do occur they can be buffed out easily. The product is eco-friendly, being harvested locally, in Wisconsin. Suited for this climate, it performs better than some exotic species.
Metro Interiors is a great company. Julie Ann listened to my preferences and needs. She kept our busy family’s lifestyle in mind for the design, and created the calm and inviting space I longed for. I would highly recommend her services. She is great to work with and clearly has her clients’ best interests in mind.
A guest who’d never been here just commented on how beautiful he thought our home was. He said he loved the color, and thought it was cozy and inviting. That is just the feel I was looking for when Julie Ann, with her grace and expertise, helped make it that way. We so enjoy the space in our home – the colors and carpet in our new bedroom, the use we get in our front room and great room makes our whole house a welcoming and nurturing place to be. I am sure I will be calling Metro Interiors before long with yet another project!
